How Do I Get Started?
AutoCAD is available for both Mac and Windows platforms. You can purchase AutoCAD software, online AutoCAD training classes, and AutoCAD certification from various vendors, or purchase AutoCAD licenses from Autodesk, the developers of AutoCAD. If you are planning to use AutoCAD for freelance or commercial work, you can select the appropriate license option for your project needs. You can also select the version of AutoCAD that best fits your needs. When you select the appropriate license, you can create a new AutoCAD project or open an existing project. See how to create and open AutoCAD projects for step-by-step instructions.
If you need to save time and use a trial license, you can click on the “Get Started” button to download the trial version of AutoCAD.
AutoCAD vs. CAD Software
AutoCAD is a CAD application, or computer-aided design application. CAD is used in the design and drafting of mechanical, architectural, civil engineering, and industrial engineering projects.
AutoCAD is more of a CAD application. An alternative CAD application is FreeCAD. FreeCAD is free, open-source, and cross-platform CAD application.
AutoCAD vs. Autodesk
Although AutoCAD is often categorized as a “drafting application,” it is actually more of a CAD application. AutoCAD’s name originates from the fact that it was developed by the Autodesk Corporation. It is the largest third-party provider of AutoCAD software.
AutoCAD is one of the largest and most used software packages in the world. Although it is not free, it has been used by millions of users and businesses. Autodesk’s premier business and industrial design tools and features are the core of the AutoCAD product. With this product, you can create CAD files, draw construction or structural drawings, and even generate 3D renders from a 2D drawing.
How Do I Use AutoCAD?
AutoCAD, just like many other CAD programs, is a 2D drawing application. AutoCAD is based on the concept that drafting is a 2D process. However, you can also use AutoCAD as a 3D modeling application.
The following are some of the typical uses for AutoCAD:
Drafting: Draw simple 2D drawings for mechanical

AutoCAD LT is a free version of the full-featured AutoCAD Professional.
Revit Architecture was AutoCAD’s main competitor for CAD-based Building Information Modeling and is now owned by Autodesk.

Foro de São Paulo
The Forum of São Paulo, or Foro de São Paulo (English: São Paulo Forum) was a public works project of the military dictatorship in Brazil. The construction of the event space took place during the regime of the Army between 1966 and 1971.
Conceived as a place of national unity, the Forum was modeled after several buildings of monumental character, such as the Treução Cathedral of Lisbon, the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian of Lisbon, the Galeria de Arte Moderna of Lisbon, or the Palácio de Cristal of Lisbon. Its architect was the Portuguese Manuel Aires Mateus.
The Forum was inaugurated in 1971, and since then it has hosted several important events, such as the World Fair held in 1976, the second National Congress of Brazilian Women in 1983, the Olimpíadas do Brasil in 1988, the first World Conference of Science in 1997, or the event of the centenary of the state of São Paulo, in 1998.
The Foro de São Paulo was founded on January 31, 1967, with the Army decree 2.488, which created the National Commission for the Implementation of the Plan of São Paulo. The project was developed by the Architecture Office of the Brazilian Army, with the architect Manuel Aires Mateus. He took inspiration in the Treução Cathedral of Lisbon, the Galeria de Arte Moderna of Lisbon, and the Palácio de Cristal of Lisbon, and created a work with high modernist architecture, with clear references to the 1960s architecture movement. The project was endorsed by the Minister of National Integration, Pedro Pires de Almeida, and the Minister of Justice, Nereu Ramos, who gave the project the name “National Space”, which would later be changed into “Foro de São Paulo”.
Construction of the building began in 1966, with the Corps of Engineers and Engineers Officer Battalion 8 and in cooperation with the Civil Aviation and Navy Agencies. The first artist that worked on the project was the Portuguese architect Jorge Colaço. It was not until the inauguration of the opera house of São Paulo, which took place on August 2, 1967, that it was realized the architecture, with structural studies of the reinforced concrete of João de Deus, and the geometrical reliefs of the facade of the steel roof. The work was finished in 1971. The For

Create more expressive layouts. Use print styles to quickly and easily change the arrangement of your items on paper, then align, annotate, or resize your layout as you design. (video: 1:10 min.)
Highlight actionable elements in the viewport and make them easier to spot. Change the auto-hide state of tools and commands to make them easier to access or combine with the grid and annotations.
Create dynamic, multi-page drawings with importing, editing, and viewing capabilities. Combine imported data from other drawings with your main drawing and easily update your design over time.
Automatically mark up content to assist your designs. Support XML-based markup with your new Markup Import and Markup Assist feature in AutoCAD, which lets you import, annotate, and navigate imported content from other CAD drawings. (video: 1:14 min.)
Improve efficiency and design quality with new dynamic annotations. The dynamic annotation feature in AutoCAD 2023 makes it easier to annotate your design with content that updates itself to your model. (video: 1:18 min.)
Add more expressive layers in your drawings and drawings imported from other applications. In addition to the linear and orthogonal layers, you can now use circular layers that let you group items within a circle, allowing you to select, resize, and navigate any element within a group.
Create more expressive layouts with print styles. You can now automatically adjust layouts as you design, using print styles to create a new paper view, automatically resize your layout based on the paper size, and add a paper grid. (video: 1:10 min.)
Integrate content from other applications into your design. You can now incorporate data from other applications into your drawings using custom AutoLISP code.
Improve efficiency and design quality with context-aware symbols and annotations. You can add context-aware symbols and annotate your drawing with data from other applications, such as text and paths. (video: 1:23 min.)
Create more expressive layouts. You can create layouts that quickly change according to your design and layout. You can even add contextual labels and guides to any layout, so that you can easily resize and navigate from one to another. (video: 1:14 min.)
