AutoCAD is currently available for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux. In March 2011, Autodesk introduced AutoCAD 2020, a major release of AutoCAD.

AutoCAD 2020 introduces a suite of innovations, such as a faster drafting and annotation experience, virtual training, and industry-specific support, such as engineering and financial modeling.

AutoCAD Classic was a 16-bit version of AutoCAD originally developed and marketed by Autodesk in 1994.

The current stable release is AutoCAD 2020. The latest pre-release version is AutoCAD 2019, with more recent versions (i.e. 2020.1) coming out after the official release of 2020.

Interface

For the majority of users, the interface is sufficient to create and modify drawings. However, the drawing features provided by AutoCAD Classic are quite limited, and the learning curve is steep.

AutoCAD Classic works best for simple drawings, such as house plans and mechanical drawings. It is not suitable for architectural designs or engineering drawings.

Metadata, also called attribute information, was stored in a separate file,.ADI, along with drawing data (e.g. the text string FOO) and allowing the user to choose the order of display of drawing information, to facilitate quicker searching. It was phased out in the 2013 release of AutoCAD.

Alternate object names

AutoCAD does not have an alternate object name support, as is the case with some other CAD systems.

Basically, I’m having trouble generating the key in the batch file.

I can see where your issue is, but also I can see that you probably are not looking at the correct parameters.
From what I can see in your code you have 3 parameters that you’re missing, I’ve highlighted them in the code below.

The third parameter is the key, which in this case is the key generated.

To further explain, as I’ve said in a comment, the %%varName%% is replaced by the value of the variable varName in batch scripting, so in your case, when %%key%% is replaced by the text generated with the cmdkey tool, then that is your key.

cmdkey /user:johndoe /pass:Pa55w0rd

In this case johndoe and Pa55w0rd are the username and password respectively.
As a note, you can also use the autocadgen.exe tool in combination with the autocadconfig.exe tool to generate keys in batch scripting, as a way to help you generate your own keys. The autocadgen.exe is a command line tool and you can specify the path to your Prog folder (the default Prog is Autocad, but it can be changed).

AutoCAD allows you to specify a target color for any particular tag. For example, you can specify that the tag corresponding to some text “Navy Blue” or “Red” automatically turns into a specific color.

Dynamically Resizable Text (With the Text to Curve Feature):

Use text to design to achieve faster and more accurate drawing results. AutoCAD now supports text properties that allow you to quickly resize the text box and associated text.
