Using the History Panel

Photoshop has a feature called the History Panel, a panel on the bottom-right side of the image window that appears when you perform an edit or use an Adjustment and it’s applied. The History Panel makes it easy to go back to an earlier version of the image or undo changes. To access the History Panel, click the History Panel icon in the lower-right corner of the image window.

You can control what changes the History Panel tracks, and where it appears. The options are as follows:

* **Edit:** Click this button to select the edit mode in which the History Panel appears. For example, when you click the Edit button in the Graphic menu, the History Panel appears with a list of the different edit modes, as shown in Figure 5-7.

Adobe Photoshop Elements offers a limited number of advanced features and tools, and even fewer support for saving projects and exporting files. All the basics of image editing are in Elements. However, once you are used to the core features in Elements, Photoshop will take you one step closer to achieving professional results. Important Adobe Photoshop Elements 16 Tips

Although you can customize the interface, once you get used to Elements, Photoshop will start feeling archaic to you. That’s a good thing.

The most important tips in this guide will help you get the most out of your time in Elements.

Tip #1

Switch Photoshop Elements 16 to full window mode. Photoshop Elements 16 is a great program for working on images, but if you are an artist it can be less practical than a full window. Whenever you create a new project, right-click on the project file and select from the context menu New on Full Screen.

This will always keep your project in full window, even if you move the project window.

One other thing to know is that the Photoshop Elements layout is different from that of other version of Photoshop. If you want to look back at older images, the easiest way to access an older version of Elements is to open the folder you created your project in, and drag the new project into the left-hand folder. That will import all your projects into a folder. Then, drag the new project you created into Photoshop Elements to open it in full window mode.

It is not as simple as just opening a new project in the Elements window, though. If you open a project in full window mode, right-click and choose “Open in New Project Panel” to move the project to the left panel (a folder).

Tip #2

Save your image. The start menu usually contains a File menu and you can save a project at any time. But before you do any changes you want to see what you have done, it’s a good idea to check the image again. The Save and Save As options are easy to overlook.

Report Viewer and redirected URL’s

We have a system that has its own security model, and that means that when ever a user opens a link in an email they are redirected to a login screen. However, that login screen will have links to other resources in the application.
Our issue is that when these users log in and they are redirected to the login page they must click on the “Back” button on their browser to go back. This causes the login screen to reload and consequently the URL is changed on the Report Viewer.
The answer may be simple but I’m stuck.
The stack is the following:
Application -> Report Viewer -> Secure URL (login screen)
I don’t know how to handle this, as when the login screen is redirected they must click back on the browser and redirect them back to the login.

This is how one of the successful solutions was implemented.
First thing, I have to tell you is that I don’t think this is an issue of URL’s or click-backs, but more on the stack. The code that calls the URL I believe is on the sub-app itself so if you delete the login page and call the sub-app on the root of the system (I don’t know if that is possible) it should redirect you again.
The stack that was used in this case was the following:
Application -> (C# Web Service -> Report Viewer)
The sub-app was calling to the Web Service and on the service itself we were calling the URL’s using the WebClient.
